Brief Introduction

The two-week summer school aims at providing

participants a glimpse at Chinese etiquette and rites.

There will be six lectures and two additional cultural

field trips. Participants will have an opportunity to

learn and experience the Chinese etiquette, particularly the local customs of Weihai city.

Courses

Classroom lectures consist of six units, including

 “etiquette and rites overview”, “speech etiquette”,

“table etiquette”, “daily life etiquette”, “social

etiquette”, and “marriage and funeral rites”.  Two

cultural field trips will take the participants to

experience the typical customs of Weihai city.

Faculty

Ms. Dong Wei is an English teacher at Shandong

University,Weihai. She is patient, friendly and

helpful, and has rich experience in teaching

cross-cultural communication.

Eligibility

Students currently enrolled in a college/university with at least one semester of attendance are eligible to

 apply.

费用

Fees

Free pick-up will be arranged at Weihai Dashuipo

Airport and Weihai Railway Station.

Potential students have to pay for their own life

expenses and personal accommodation.

Credits

One academic credit will be conferred after you pass

the examinations. Students who wish to transfer

program credit are advised to consult with appropriate academic officials at their home institution before the

program begins.
